Sound of Music Vegan Outreach
June 15-17, 3:00 pm
Please join us. This is a perfect location and event to do vegan outreach. We were there last year and it was amazing! We will be giving out FREE vegan food samples, vegan literature and paying people $5 cash to watch an 8-minute Animal Equality virtual reality documentary of a pig’s life from birth to slaughter that really makes people reconsider their ‘food’ choices.

Compassion in World Farming is organizing STOP Live Transport 2018, uniting a global movement against the cruelty of long-distance live animal transport. The pressure on policy makers is mounting, but tens of thousands of live animals are still being exported from the UK every year, and this suffering HAS to stop. A number of local activist groups around the world will take part in STOP Live Transport 2018. Setubal Animal Save in Portugal and Save Movement Puebla in Mexico will participate.

Hi, I’m Lily the Mother Goat.

Babies taken from their mothers, just like my babies were taken from me. The pain was unbearable. I wish the whole world would see how unjust this is.

Climate Vegan‘s core message is: Help save the planet by going vegan and becoming active.

Via A Well-Fed World:
Animal agriculture is now recognized as the #1 driver of wildlife habitat loss and species extinction. One of the saddest ironies in this is we could feed 3.5 billion more people just by growing plants for human consumption on land currently used to grow feed crops for farmed animals.

St. John’s Farm Animal Save holds weekly vigils for the chickens.
“Did you know that Country Ribbon slaughters over 13,000,000 chickens every year?
Join us every Saturday as we stand in solidarity to shed light on the thousands of chickens slaughtered everyday in St. John’s and all animals world wide.”

Melbourne saw a huge demo for the cows on May 19. Melbourne Cow Save report:
“Over 200 animal liberation activists gathered in Melbourne Central Business District to bring attention to the needless exploitation, suffering and violence inflicted on animals in the name of ‘food.’
Activists held 21 cows ears from individuals who had been slaughtered because of the meat and dairy industries and shared their stories.
They were bred into this world, only to be classified as property and then raised to be exploited and slaughtered for their bodies.
These victims are Not a Number and this violence must end.”

“Animals with blemishes and bruises, cut or bitten off tails and ears, scared or curious eyes, sometimes nibbling on our fingers, 70 people bearing witness” — A few impressions from Hamburg Animal Save and Berlin Animal Save‘s May 12 vigil at the VION Perleberg slaughter plant.

Pleas watch: Calcutta Animal Save held their second vigil, bearing witness to the silent suffering of aquatic animals.

Save Movement Cancún report from their May 19 vigil at the municipal slaughter plant:
“Our Saturday vigil was a very nice experience, many people came. We sang for the animals and we gave each other a lot of love as a community.”

Linköping Animal Save report from their May 15 vigil at the Scan slaughter plant:
“We bore witness to an incredible number of individuals when they passed us on their way into the slaughterhouse to be killed, against their will. We saw you and never will ever forget you.”

For her very first vigil, Holly Stratford joined Lincolnshire Animal Save at their May 12 vigil outside the Moy park slaughter plant. She shared her impressions:
“Lorry after lorry filled with over 6,000 chickens in each. Just this one location slaughters over 10,000 birds an hour, some days even reaching 345,000 in 24 hours!!! These numbers are just gut wrenching!! That’s over 200 innocent lives every minute!! In the UK alone we kill over 975 million broiler chickens and over 40 million so called ‘spent’ hens a year!!
None will even get a name or a second of kindness and dignity that they so rightfully deserve. They will just end up on someones dinner plate for a meal they don’t even need to survive!! Just for so called ‘enjoyment and taste’.
More than ever now days there are so many kinder, healthier, more delicious alternatives to all animal products.
By buying animal products you are paying someone to kill animals for you. Now is the time to make the change and make a difference to these poor exploited innocent souls!

Welcome Carson City Animal Save. Find them on Facebook.

Seattle Farmed Animal Save saw 30 activists and were joined by That Vegan Couple, activists from Australia, at their May 12 vigil at Enumclaw Live Animal Auction.
Even though this is a public auction, staff did not allow the taking of any photography.

Toronto Pig Save has a firm commitment to hold at least three vigils or other vegan outreach events per week. We currently hold a Pig Save vigil in Burlington together with Cow Save and Chicken Save vigils in Toronto. We encourage everyone to attend a vigil. The more people who attend, the harder it is for society to ignore our protests of the abhorrent exploitation and cruelty to animals. Attending vigils is a daunting, traumatic, but empowering experience. Please join us. Scroll down for vigil schedule.

Leo Tolstoy defines the duty to bear witness as: “When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to him who suffers, and try to help him.” – from A Calendar of Wisdom

Toronto Pig Save started in December 2010, with a promise to the pigs of doing a minimum of three vigils and vegan outreach events each week, all year round. We bear witness as a community of pigs, cows, chickens and other farmed animal victims in slaughterhouse trucks. The animals want us to be present and, with the most pleading eyes, ask for our help when we see them through the portholes of transport trucks. Just as if we were in those horrid trucks, we would want the whole community to be there fighting for our freedom, liberation, rights, and equality. In a way, we are there. All life is one and, “when (wo)men wish to harm others, they really do evil to themselves,” Leo Tolstoy said in his animal rights story “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria”. It’s our positive duty and obligation to act in the present to try to stop the most egregious injustices before us.
“When the suffering of another creature causes you to feel pain, do not submit to the initial desire to flee from the suffering one, but on the contrary, come closer, as close as you can to her who suffers, and try to help her.” – Leo Tolstoy
In seven years, The Save Movement has grown to over 400 Save groups around the world. Our dream is to have regular vigils at every slaughter plant worldwide. We regularly give seed money to new Save groups and require funds for literature, posters, subway ad campaigns ( and vegan outreach events.
Make animal liberation your priority in life! Think of 10 kind things you can do each day and encourage your friends to do the same! Join us and participate in our weekly vigils, start a Save group in your community, and be a regular donor.
